Generally you would be right in that the "Super Chief" usually rated a trio of SDP40F units in 1974 with two of the Cowl units assigned to the "Texas Chief." (Those names were so much better than "Southwest Limited" and "Lone Star," respectively...) I will make mention that in 1979 there were a number of "Southwest Chiefs" that ran in the "off season" with only two SDP's when they were under 15 cars in length... Thanks for sharing!
