Amtrak big F,s blast eb under the BN at Galesburg ILL. A long time ago but I think Super Chief ran with 3 units and Texas train ran with 2 but could be wrong.

Great shot from an interesting era! Generally you would be right in that the "Super Chief" usually rated a trio of SDP40F units in 1974 with two of the Cowl units assigned to the "Texas Chief." (Those names were so much better than "Southwest Limited" and "Lone Star," respectively...) I will make mention that in 1979 there were a number of "Southwest Chiefs" that ran in the "off season" with only two SDP's when they were under 15 cars in length...  Thanks for sharing!

Both 3&4 and 15&16 usually ran with two units thru GBA. Based on the direction and apparent time of day, I'll gamble this is a No. 4. Bob
