From the John Mills files, we have a shot of the Rock Island's Golden State observation car.  I assume that it was next to the Santa Fe exhibit with the adobe dwelling in the background?

The car is the La Mirada originally built for the 'Golden Rocket', and later assigned to the 'Golden State'.

Thanks for the info.!  Nice big rear obs. windows on that car.  Does anyone know of its ultimate disposition?

The car was 'squared off' for mid train use in 1956 and became a full lounge, losing the two double bedrooms and drawing room. 
 It was still listed in 'The Official Register of Passenger Train Equipment' in March of 1966, and sold in 1971. (Buyer unknown to me). 

Nice shot!  Stuck in the middle of this thread ( http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?11,3305187,3305257#msg-3305257 ) is a shot of the car that my dad took after its conversion to a square-ended car.
