Nostalgia & History > Builders' PlatesDate: 06/08/15 15:49 Builders' Plates Author: ut-1 I've always been interested in builders' plates, especially those proclaiming who built railroad bridges.
Wondered of the men, of a different age, who labored to make railroad infrastructure. And marveled at how their work survived the test of time. Here are two builders' plates for bridges purchased by the New York Central for placement on its St Lawrence Division; presently, the Mohawk, Adirondack & Northern operates over these still-useful remnants of a bygone era. Anyone else have pics to share of builders' plates on railroad infrastructure, or, perhaps, one on a favorite locomotive? Later, the h was dropped, but the official spelling returned to Pittsburgh in 1911.
