Bethlehen Engine Terminal N&W and RDG Scene

A scene from 1972 when you could roam the terminal at Bethlehem, Pa. and get all the roster shots you wanted. The F's were working for the CNJ at this time.

Nice photo of F units on the Reading.  Remember the N&W never purchased any F units themselves; these were acquired through a merger of probably the Wabash into them.

I don't remember feeling particularly welcome at Bethlehem, even before Conrail. It was always a hit and run kind of place, as I recall. But the variety was excellent!

The N&W F's are not on the Reading. This is a CNJ engine terminal and the F's were leased (borrowed or given) gy the CNJ.

The whole facility was CNJ with RDG trackage rights, no? RDG came in on the west end at R tower and on the east end at Steel tower, if I remember right. And I might not. :)
