Thirty Thursday: Moutaineers on the Prairie
Author: PRose

When the DRGW was granted trackage rights over the former Mopac line from Pueblo, CO to KC due to the UP-MP-WP merger, the power was new to us midwest fans.
We saw everything the Grande had to offer from tunnel motors to ex Conrail power and the GP30s were included in the mix ; more often than not, on the point.
Here is eastbound F134 banging the Cotton Belt (ex Rock Island) diamonds at Herington, KS.  The 3016 doing the honors.

Thanks for looking.

Gosh... can't believe it's been 30 years since we saw scenes like this. Seems like we should still be able to catch something coming through Herington on the "other" line... :^(

Nice catch--that looks cool with the headlight arrangement and especially the class lights on.
