Back in January I posted another of my ‘Lone Star Nights’ series. The two shots were actually of Amtrak’s Southwest Limited, train #4 taken in Topeka, KS. I was lamenting the fact I never got the chance to shoot the Lone Star in Topeka before it was murdered. Here’s another shot of that very same train, same night that somehow got left out of the mix.
(I tell ya, that dern secretary of mine… ;^)

Love this.  I am a big fan of using existing light for night shots where possible - this is what night should look like, not daytime with a black sky!

I wonder how old those power poles are?  I believe there are 3 of them that take the wires over the main and yard tracks.  They must be railroad responsibility and not KPL/Westar?
