Green River Steel Alco switcher Sep 05 1982

Made the attached photo (through the fence) of #306 Alco switcher at Green River Steel in Owensboro, KY on Sep 05 1982. Believe the other Alco partially visible was #53. The company has since ceased operations and the site has been cleared.

Ex-Belt Ry of Chicago. Were they in service or just there to be cut up?

The units were at the plant to switch cars of scrap from the scrap yard to the mill.  There are remote control indicating lights attached to the cabs.

Took a look through a magnifying glass.  I believe the partially obscured engine is #58 rather than #53 as I first reported..
