I remember there was a picture of it being scrapped in Trains and one person suggested it be dismantled in place rather than scraped.

Date: 10/02/15 20:47 Re: Jensen's GTW 4-6-2 5629 Author: Seventyfive You can't see much of it, but of interest, the building behind the 5629 is New York Central " HF " Tower. It was a pistol grip plant and the operator's desk was where the bay window brickwork is obvious in the photo. The tower was just a few car lengths west of South Bend Union Station. I never saw the GTW 5629 in action so do appreciate the photo.
