Well... until I glanced at the date and the lettering on the side of the passenger cars, I was thinking "Wow! There's a prototype for everything."  Could you imagine seeing an ALCO C-630 running long-hood forward in regular commuter service!    Then I got to thinking how neat it would have looked if the Espee had picked up some high-nose, dual-control  C-630's in "Black Widow" paint to run in its Bay Area commute operation.

Now I'm wondering if any of the N&W high-nosed ALCOS ever saw duty on a passenger train during their service on the N&W or C&NW?

Nice catch!  Thanks for posting it.

After all the hoo-hah on the modeling board about the height of the Bowser C630's with Hi-Ads, the fuel tank on 5308 looks like it has a generous amount of clearance underneath.

I'm pretty sure there was a question about the accuracy of the Hi-Ad 630, also.

The C630s equipped with HiAds utilized the same frame as prior C630s, with the necessary modifications to facilitate higher mounting. Thus the generous clearance below the stock 4000 gal tank . A new frame with a 5000 gal tank designed for the C636.
