Nostalgia & History > P&C Dock Co. Conneaut, OhioDate: 10/07/15 15:20 P&C Dock Co. Conneaut, Ohio Author: NKP715 An undated photo recently donated to the Conneaut Railroad Museum shows an
aerial view of the P&C Dock Co. that I had not seen before. We're looking south, with the Dock Co office just below center on the right. The vessel is being loaded with coal. The road in the upper and lower left is Woodworth Road, which was closed off just north of the former NYC tracks when the Upper Yard facility was built in the 1970's. The loop was an employee parking area. Second photo is a close-up showing the infamous 4 track "non" swing bridge; when built, the first attempt to rotate it was a disaster, as it only moved a few feet. It was forced back into position, where it has stayed ever since. An F unit is working at the north end. It was from that parking area mentioned above that I photographed P&C 1 -- ex B&LE 712 -- working on the bridge in Feb of 1965. Edited 3 time(s). Last edit at 10/07/15 22:12 by NKP715.
