Milwaukee Rd. 4-8-4 in Montana.

A friend found this photo at a garage sale. The only information is that it is Milwaukee Rd #219 in Montana in 1947.

These engines were not used on the Northern Montana, and there were only two roundhouses on the transcon in Montana east of the catenary, so this must have been taken at Melstone or Miles City. I'd bet on Miles City.

That's a big smokestack. Is it one of the smoke lifting kinds like the ATSF had on some of their engines?
