Roger Puta captured this CRI&P U25B 230 passing through Marseilles, IL on January 28, 1967.

Enjoy,

Look at all the PFE trailers on the head end of that train...Likely all perishables off the SP at Tucumcari. These days all that traffic is on I-80 a couple of miles north of this location.

Thanks for the look back, Marty!

The area got a bunch of distribution centers for Chicagoland trucking in the 2000s, as well.  Utica, LaSalle, Ottawa and especially Minooka.

I really like the chevrons.  That scheme didn't last too long.

The depot still looks pretty good and is in use for commercial space.  The last time I was in town, it might have been a pediatrician or dentist or medical clinic of some kind.

Nice shot Marty!
Amazing that 82 miles to the east, Chicago was digging out from beneath the largest snowfall ever recorded in the city, 23".

I remember that very well.  I had to go to Chicago for a business school that week, and I haven't been back since.  ( That's the most snow I've  ever seen )
