Great photos Marty. I remember our trip to Chicago racing down the center main at 60-70mph with 3985 and being told about the noise free zones until we passed a few open stations at speed and then I was told to whistle by them.

Thanks, Marty.  The 407 and 416 are of special interest to me as they were sold, via Naporano,
to the Cedar Valley Railroad and used to power the "Star Clipper" dinner train, the first such
train in the country.  The train and the units were later moved to Michigan, I believe, and I
have lost track of them since.  It was nice to see them in action before their trek to Iowa
and the slow paced dinner train service.

Does any one know when CNW changed their numbering system?  I recall our Peninsula 400 being led by #414 prior to 1969. Is that possible?

Stockwood, you need to go to the Utah Rails site.  The page to start on is: http://utahrails.net/cnw/cnw-number-index.php
