Looks like the Valmy empties and the power lines would suggest somewhere East of there but the
terrain isn't quite right.

I almost think it looks like out near Sand Pass, maybe westbound approaching Flanigan...?

See ur thought James, but don't remember any power lines like those and why empty gons would be moving over that trackage. Think you mean just past what I call the Gerlach road crossing, about 6 miles west of Sand Pass. This is a good "where is it?"

Looks to be UT or NV.

The hoppers look to be ballast cars.

Not Sand Pass.  Looks to be Eastern Nevada, perhaps Wendover Hill.
