Nostalgia & History > Bernie….down south.Date: 02/11/16 10:23 Bernie….down south. Author: engine3420 Bernie visits the Norfolk and Western.....somewhere........
Bernie Levine photo, Irv Hirsch collection. Chris Date: 02/11/16 11:33 Re: Bernie….down south. Author: CA_Sou_MA_Agent Interesting how, instead of washing that E Unit, they just left it dirty and cleaned off the portion that says "Norfolk & Western", plus the unit number.
Maybe there was a drought. Date: 02/11/16 11:48 Re: Bernie….down south. Author: callum_out Check out the Alco with a boiler!
Out Date: 02/11/16 13:15 Re: Bernie….down south. Author: Alexmarissa Anybody know the location?
Date: 02/11/16 13:33 Re: Bernie….down south. Author: halfmoonharold The train size, codeline poles, and dwarf signals would make me think former Wabash property. Can't see a sign on the depot. The Geep and Alco are former NKP units.
Date: 02/11/16 14:09 Re: Bernie….down south. Author: ARandall70 The loacation is the Wightman Street crossing in Moberly, Missouri.
The train would be westbound from St. Louis and it is just about a block south of the Moberly Depot. Having date information would be helpful, but this would appear to be N&W 209 from St. Louis to Kansas City. Per the N&W Moberly Division timetable No.1, dated January 15, 1967, 209 was due into Moberly at 6:17pm. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/11/16 14:23 by ARandall70. None of Bernie's photos are dated nor do they have locations noted. Chris Date: 02/11/16 14:38 Re: Bernie….down south. Author: wabash2800 Thanks for the location. The buiding on the right is a freight station of standard design, a similar one at Tilton, Illinois.
