Switcher Saturday: J.R. Simplot & Amalgamated Sugar in S. Idaho

Here's a few industrial switchers from S. Idaho locations in the 80's:

1) J.R. Simplot #4004, an ex-SP RS32 same number, at the large manufacturing facility west of Pocatello. May 1985.

2) Amalgamated Sugar, no number GE 25T(?), Twin Falls, Apr. 1980.  Check out the eyeball!

3) Amalgamated Sugar Nos. 32 and ?, Fischer (Nampa), Dec. 1983 during the beet campaign.

Here's another one from the same day at Twin Falls.

I never did shoot pictures out there, we covered the plant out of our then existing branch in Heyburn
and business wise it wasn't a good idea to show up with a camera. But, I did talk to the plant engineer
a bit about the units and they had three pieces all built between 1939 and 1941 and they all looked
to be in excellent condition.

Here's the 4004 when leased from Chrome Crankshaft by SD&AE.   March 15, 1980.  The San Diego skyline has changed a bit in 35+ years.   Chargers and Padres still suck though.
