Phoebe Snow Where Are You When We Need You

When I fist saw this scan I immediately hoped Roger Puta took it on the tracks of the old Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad, the Road of Anthracite, and Phoebe Snow, so that wash on the clothes line would stay clean.  But alas, Roger's caption let me down.

I think that especially when reflecting on the loss of the Erie Lackawanna 40 years ago,
no photo of that road will ever be a let down.  Ever since that day, what I have missed most is the EL.
Every time I went anywhere to fan it I was always rewarded.  Fanning at Griffith Tower, Indiana
was never the same again.  Long live the Erie Lackawanna, even if only in our photos and memories.
 And thanks for the great photo.
