SOO crosses CNW at Clinton IA, from US30 bridge. Never again!
Author: slacks

Always wanted this shot from off Hgw30 bridge over the Mississippi River bridge. In the early 1990,s I hiked the long walk up the east side ramp to grab this shot of a SOO nb frt crossing the CNW at 5 st interlocking and heading north to Sabula. Many changes have occured since, Planters Peanut elevator is gone along with the CNW carshops. I would love to try this shot today but will have to wait till I get a new set of knees!

You'd better get Superman's invulnerability too.  The sidewalk on the US30 bridge was removed several
years ago when the bridge got rebuilt!

I went up there before the bridge rebuilding and spent a June morning up there, but all I could get were CNW
westbounds.  Good catch, slacks, thanks for posting.

Nice job there Slacks. The Iowa Chapter has a shot of a streamliner EB from that spot, late 40's or early 50's taken by Wilber St. Peter.

Here are a couple of shots I took back in the late 90's.
You can see the building and the street crossing in the 2nd bridge photo.
