Too much gingerbread for a bridge and the telephone box makes it a buiding somewhere.

The gingerbread reminds me of Seligman.

Here's a link to a previous TO positing featuring an earlier Bruce Black shot from almost the identical location.

I've also attached a set of orders No. 19 The Chief received at Seligman 7/28/67:

1) thru 3) Seligman Clearance + T.O.'s 602-601 delivered to No. 19 7/28/67

Finally, John Stewart covered dying Seligman in the song "Angel Delgadillo" on the Rough Sketches [From Route 66] album, which is my favorite from his later years.

Thanks for some good but bittersweet memories, Jack.

And the "metal box" in the first picture is an AT&T Model 101B Terminal Block used to splice a single pair drop wire.
Still see a few of those around these days, but not many.

Terry, thanks for your post. The old girl sure looks better in the Bruce Black photo. Nice set of trainorders too.

Jack

Didn't Amtrak stop in Seligman in the early 70's?

Yes when Seligman was still a Division point, and ATSF crews (operating Amtrak) still changed here...
