Something makes me doubt photo #2 is LAUPT, namely that big SP PA with "101" in the number boards.  There is also that structure in the foreground, nothing like that in LA.  Ogden is about the only place one would routinely see this mix of UP and  SP power, which makes me wonder if photo #1 isn't Ogden as well.  Number 108 would be the UP/C&NW Challenger.  AA

Pretty sure this is Ogden.  The SP daylight engine is sitting under the 24th street viaduct bridge.
