few Santa Fe around So Cal . . .

top: Santa Fe's 2nd Watson roadswitcher on duty Watson yard in Wilmington has been pressed into service to pull empty copper concentrate cars from the Kaiser Bulk Facility at the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro much to the shagrin of the crew shown passing under the west approach to the Vincent Thomas Bridge 11-87. This trackage no longer sees trains.
middle: An eastbound train is passing a pair of brand new SP B40's that had been set out by another train for movement to a GE facility in Tustin on the Olive Sub for some rework 7-89.
top: A westbound "extra Harbor" export coal train was descending "Inglewood Hill" in Inglewood on the Harbor Sub 6-87. This section of the Harbor Sub no longer sees trains since the opening of the Alameda Corridor in '02.

Nice set of good black and white photos. A little additional info on the caption for the Middle photo. The GE facility is located near Tustin Ave. in Anaheim, Ca, across La Palma Ave from the Metrolink stop called Anahein Canyon on the Olive Sub.

I used to live barely a mile from the tracks in the middle pic. I would see the SP/SSW 8000s in the early part of 1988. Are you sure about the 7/1989 date? The morning sun looks to be WAY too far south for July.

Yes, B&W negs. Date could be wrong but this is the date written on the neg page, they did this for quite a while as the facility could only handle three units at a time.
