A "Cool" EL Photo for These Hot Days and Nights
Author: refarkas

EL 818 is westbound under the B&O Akron Union Station walkbridge. It is the late 1960's in Akron, Ohio, and I am on the B&O platform looking northwest at an EL passenger train as it approaches EL's Akron passenger station. There is a good chance this is either around Thanksgiving or Christmas as there are three E-units, and snow is blowing through this scene.

Since he said late1960's and it is light out, it is likely the "Lake Cities", which had a morning arrival time in Akron.

Old Erie Lackawanna RR train crews on the Lake Cities, were based out of Meadville, PA and Marion, OH and worked between Marion and M eadville.  Marion based engine crews worked to and from Kent, OH.
