Nostalgia & History > Glenwood Springs, ColoradoDate: 07/15/16 08:27 Glenwood Springs, Colorado Author: flynn The town of Glenwood Springs is to get a new Grand Avenue Bridge. Gone is the Colorado Midland, the Aspen Branch of Denver and Rio Grande, and the 1903 Doirg steel two span skewed truss railroad bridge. The rail yards at Funston have been moved across the Colorado River and the Union Pacific crosses the Roaring Fork River and follows the route of the Colorado Midland west out of town. Interstate 70 Highway crosses under the Grand Avenue Bridge just west of the swimming pool.
