A few from the North Philly platform. The E60 is from July 3, 1977. The AEM-7's from January 3, 1988. Pic#3 is a mail/express train, no passengers.

Also from July 3, 1977, GG-1 902 is crossing the Schuylkill River with #41, the Broadway, and is just entering the ZOO interlocking. The E-60 is heading north out of 30th St. and about to cross the river. Both shots from the same location.

in the 1977 shots at N. Philly if you would've hung around or got there early in the morning you would've caught the yard job out of 52nd St that went up the Chestnut Hill Brnach with 89' high cubes for Budd Co's stamping plant at Midvale ... and the N.Philly switch job that came down from Frankford Jct for 5 track with 60ft auto parts boxcars and would leave them in Margoe St yard ... a 70ton siderod engine would come out the bldg on Lehigh Ave pushing 2 or 3 empty boxcars and grab 2 or 3 loads and back into the bldg ..... the siderod shift would occur several times a day ...

and the last 2 images are at what we called "THE ZOO PARKING LOT" location with 4 River going down into the hole in front of you ... the GG1 with the Broadway is wb on #3 and will take the NY-Pitt subway switch in front of the tower ... 3 track connected to the tail track (middle track on the bridge) under the signal bridge ( looking towards the tower in the last photo) using a slip switch that led to the EJ track that was the freight track for trains out towards Harrisburg ...

On track 0 Zoo to N Phila?

Amtrak's height limit on tracks 2-3 is 16 ft 2 in.
Maybe lower than that on tracks 1 and 4--
not higher, in any case.

Nice set of photos.  The AEM7s and the matching passenger cars look great in the Phase III scheme.

Great set!  I too was struck by how nice the wide stripe Amfleet train looks in the first photo.  I always like to see corridor shots.
