you can see with the rust on the rails the crossover between #1 and #2 tracks was rarely used ...

the track designations through North Philly at that time were the 

"0" track right in front of the tower (all the way to the righ) 

Eastward Station next to the "0" track

1,2,3,(the train is on ) and 4 between the platforms 
 
Westward Station .. #1 Chestnut Hill inound came off this track 


#5 track was the far track ... #2 Chestnut Hill the outbound came off this track  ... there was a diamond here for the inbound and #5 track ..

note: Eastward and Westward station tracks were only between the east and west ends of the interlocking and interlocking limits governed all tracks through N. Philly ...
