In hindsight I took this photo a little too soon, but...
Author: bradleymckay

it is what it is.

It's late December 1989 and this SP westbound is decending the grade toward Benson, AZ from Dragoon.  I have a thing for clouds in the sky with shadowed mountains in the background.  I remember telling myself "don't let the lead unit get too close or it'll block out some of the distant mountain shadows, but don't take the photo too soon!".  I didn't have an auto winder on my camera so my photo's were always "one and done".  So here is the result of that inner brain battle.  At least I sorta centered the lead unit and didn't let the 6869 block out some of the mountain shadows!

That 3rd unit looks tiny compared to other engines!

I prefer it the way it was composed and shot.  The idea was to get mountains and clouds and cropping certainly diminishes that effect.

My vote goes for a crop halfway between the cropped version and the original, so you see the mountain range in its entirety.

Have you learned nothing? Do you see any pool in the picture? What's wrong with you?

A Trainorders search reveals that a surprising number of Trainorders posters use the stupid compound word "noone."

One website declared that this word (a compound of "no one") is "most commonly used by people who aquired their literary skills in online chat rooms."

No and hell no!! When I think back at the stuff I took for granted and never bothered to
shoot, a size 12 boot in the butt comes to mind.
