Date: 09/21/16 23:12 Re: San Francisco Abandoned Railroads W.R.R. ??? Author: Westbound Your pictures show just a little of the very interesting street trackage that was once used in the City. Bits and pieces have shown up in books and here on Trainorders.
Here is one page from a WP binder covering joint facilities, showing ownership and maintenance responsibilities. This is a sketch, not a scale diagram. Date: 09/21/16 23:17 Re: San Francisco Abandoned Railroads W.R.R. ??? Author: JimBaker Look closely at thermap. That 'W.R.R.' is actually W.P.- Western Pacific Railroad.
The other industrial tracks there are Southern Pacific and I believe have been covered earlier in posts here in Trainorders. Date: 09/22/16 00:28 Re: San Francisco Abandoned Railroads W.R.R. ??? Author: 06Redcar Actually the W.P. tracks are the former Ocean Shore Railroad tracks, when the Ocean Shore was abandoned the W.P. took over the the switching south of Market St.
for the City of San Francisco. Date: 09/22/16 01:25 Re: San Francisco Abandoned Railroads W.R.R. ??? Author: 4451Puff If you know where to look, there's a couple of stainless dome cars from the CA zephyr tucked away between some buildings mere yards from those photos were shot. Parked on what was once WP R.O.W.

Tom Y Date: 09/22/16 09:23 Re: San Francisco Abandoned Railroads W.R.R. ??? Author: TonyJ SP's Division Street Tower once stood at the junction of the WP and SP on Division Street. There were pot signals still working there in the 1960s, long after the tower was removed.I have some shots of abvandoned trackage I need to post.
Date: 09/22/16 09:51 Re: San Francisco Abandoned Railroads W.R.R. ??? Author: zephyrus The line running down Townsend, Division and Treat is SP and the original San Francisco and San Jose mainline, later bypassed by the cut-off along the bayside. Aside from the spurs off that line, all the other trackage shown is WP.
Only some of the WP trackage is ex-Ocean Shore. The WP also added onto the OS line. Z Date: 09/22/16 15:28 Re: San Francisco Abandoned Railroads W.R.R. ??? Author: Topfuel 4451Puff Wrote:
