Nostalgia & History > Another Conrail MemoryDate: 09/25/16 09:34 Another Conrail Memory Author: sig292 Another Conrail Memory:
Conrail South Plainfield local train WJSP-30 rounds the curve on ex-Lehigh Valley trackage at MP 30 approaching Middlesex NJ on June, 24, 1980. There is a lot to like here, a clean high hood GP-8 (ex-NYC) # 5411, stick rail, freight cars that are not covered in graffiti and an LV "lollipop" whistle post. Another thing to like is that the rear end has Ex-LV N-5G caboose # 18650 flying red flags as the train heads westbound heading for Manville yard and a night of switching.
