MBTA had 144 Boeing-Vertol cars numbered 3400-3543 built during 1976, 77, and 78.  And that was exactly 144 too many if you would have talked to anybody at MBTA trying to keep them running.

1. MBTA 3423, D RIVERSIDE VIA HIGHLAND BRANCH, in Boston on September 11, 1991.

2. MBTA 3455, D RIVERSIDE VIA HIGHLAND BRANCH, on the Lechmere Loop, Cambridge on June 26, 1983

3. MBTA 3489, CLEVELAND CIRCLE VIA BEACON ST., North Station, Boston on June 25, 1983.

4. MBTA 3508 and 3418, B BOSTON COLLEGE VIA COMMONWEALTH AVE., out on Commonwealth Ave., Boston on June 25, 1983.

5. MBTA 3536 and 3534 in the Riverside Yards, Newton on June 25, 1983.

All good quality photos of early light-rail, not much of it out there. Thanks for taking and sharing them!

The shot of 3489 with the North Station reflection in the glass is pretty awesome.  I've really enjoyed all the MBTA submissions over the last couple of weeks Marty!
