This is the west end of the Soo's Mississippi River crossing and the train is westbound. The diverging track is for the Soo's North Minneapolis industrial branch which also hosted Soo passenger trains from the west to downtown Minneapolis. The big customer on this line as I recall was the Minneapolis Tribune's printing plant which recieved many loads of paper. I don't know where it is today. Nice shot, thanks for posting. Nice shot. Still a busy bridge on the CP's Chicago - Minneapolis - Calgary - Vancouver mainline (with Minneapolis - Chicago traffic on the Milwaukee Road since the mid-1980s). Ted in OR Date: 10/24/16 15:56 Re: BB: SOO F, GP with train at Camden Jct., Minneapolis Author: icancmp193 Great shot. Looks like the diverging track goes nowhere today.
