In Heat of The Night movie filming locations

I was watching the Great movie last night " In the Heat of the Night " and I was wondering where is or was the Round House used in the movie ?

The IMDB site shows many places in IL where filming was done, but not where the Round House was, or the Station where Virgil Tibbs boarded his train finally was

I can't help you with the details but my favorite scene is the MOPAC freight running at speed just as the guy is chased across the tracks. Not really a close call but a good scene none the less.

I seem to recall that the roundhouse scene was shot on the old M&I at a location called Bush, IL?

It was the Mike & Ike at Sparta.  The chase scene along the river was shot between Chester and Rockwood.  We just shot UP 844 near that location last week.
