Nostalgia & History > A shot of the Sunset Limited - Huey P bridge -- May 75Date: 12/03/16 07:19 A shot of the Sunset Limited - Huey P bridge -- May 75 Author: gcm Chasing the westbound Sunset out of the station, I got one shot on the Huey P Long bridge.
Luckily I don't take pictures like this while driving anymore (especially on narrow 30's built roads). Anyway the Sunset was interesting - an SP business car on the rear and what looks like a couple of slumbercoaches - maybe ex-NYC Harbor series cars ? An SP diner (not totally painted to Amtrak yet) is being used. I encountered "Bad Axe River" on No 1 about this time. Bob Date: 12/03/16 21:25 Re: A shot of the Sunset Limited - Huey P bridge -- May 75 Author: UP951West Nice one. Thanks for sharing these older Amtrak slides !

Andy Date: 12/04/16 16:23 Re: A shot of the Sunset Limited - Huey P bridge -- May 75 Author: MEKoch Duplex roomette car might have been a dorm. Then come the two sleepers; UP diner and ATSF lounge; three hilevels and bag. Typical Sun Ltd. consist in those days.
