Nostalgia & History > a CRANDIC view in 1972

I took this shot @ Cedar Rapids early on 10/13/72 @ Cedar Rapids. Is that an x-CRANDIC hopper, that has gotten a patch? Best I can read, the hoppers new reporting marks appear to be 'OC'.

Used to enjoy seeing the RR when I was in college in Iowa City and lived in North Liberty from 1967 through 1970.

Good answer to the question.  I'm thinking this is a former Hallet car
Crandic bought used for ballast service.  I believe the crossing the
photo was taken at is 12th St. SW, which is east of the Crandic 
shops complex.
