Sometimes... - CVL 4070

Sometimes a slide converted to black and white can appear timeless. Here is Cuyahoga Valley Line 4070 in Akron, Ohio on October 27, 1979. She and her train will pull ahead a little more and then reverse through the east leg of the B&O wye for the first part of turning the train for its return to Cleveland.

I don't think I've ever seen a pilot like that.  Usually they have steps on the sides or footboards.

One aspect of converting to B&W is that the high visibility safety gear goes to gray.

Had to do a double take; steam engine mmm okay even today its definitely possible, but that consist, those cars? 1979 may as well be 1939
WOW, the combine looks like a NYC Osgood Bradly from the B&A or Putnam line.
