Here are two N&W photos from 1984.
Image one: It is August 1984, and a westbound freight is passing through Cleveland, Ohio.
Image two: N&W 8506 passes through Attica, Ohio on October 12, 1984.

Great pics!
One good thing about photographing the N&W is that it almost didnt matter whether you used color or black & white film!

Several things of interest.

NW logo.  Auto parts cars.  Older (now) GE locomotives.  Pipe connected derail.  Small grain elevator.  Pole line.

Intersesting shots. Photo one: I didn`t realize those boxcars that Athearn makes were around that early, and I see a nice dark green Mack R model crossing the bridge in the background. Thanks!

Most autopart boxcars were built from about 1964 into the late 1970's. I check these in the computer from time to time, and I can't recall any build dates in the '80's or later.

I liked it when it had the Norfolk and Western spelled out on the side.
Great pair of shots!

A good surmise on it being a 145 or 309.

I took both of them over the drawbridge many times in my employment on the N&W, NW & NS.  The 8000"s were one of my preferred types of lead units.  I was sorry to see them go.

Good Shots.     Duane
