That same morning (August 18, 1971) I was over in Windsor on the Greeley branch under the same dark leaden skies photographing Duke Hollman notching out the 840 leaving town for Greeley (obviously with a far inferior camera and photography skills).
This was during the period of the Union Pacific strike and the Greeley branch was pretty busy. Edited 3 time(s). Last edit at 03/07/17 07:29 by train1275. Date: 03/07/17 07:55 Re: BB: Red Dawn ... well a little later ... on the C&S 1971 Author: mcfflyer My, oh my! Great photo to start the day!

JB Date: 03/07/17 11:14 Re: BB: Red Dawn ... well a little later ... on the C&S 1971 Author: GRNDMND I always liked those C&S (Q) SD40's. Some on the Q-proper would have been nice. The SD45's would have looked great in chineese red! Thanks for sharing BB's great shot.
