Roger Puta's Algoma Central Photos -- Part 2
Author: MartyBernard

These 5 weree taken November 1978.  They all seem to be the same obs car.  I'd love addition information about the car and location(s) for the captions.  What does the name mean?

Thanks,
Marty Bernard

From what I can find, Michipicoten was ex Southern Railway  Business Car Ashville.. I can't find any info as to when the Algoma Central acquired  the car.

I don't know what it means, but I think its a place name on the railroad. Probably a First Nations word.

"Michipicoten" is the Ojibwe word meaning "big bluffs", in Canada,
a river, an island, a bay and a township all carry the name.  The car
is indeed an ex-Southern car,
