MILW Depot Gone
Author: BN31349

I hadn't driven through Martinsdale (MT) for several years, but on a recent trip, I noticed the depot was gone. Several years ago when I went through there, that relentless west wind was ripping the SW roof corner off. Brick substation at Loweth standing strong. I did not drive to Ringling. Anyone know if that depot is still standing?

Looked at a Google satellite image and the Ringling Depot is still there, and the most recent photo I could find was dated 2011. In the satellite it looks like some of the roof is beginning to fall apart.

Is the bar still open in Martinsdale? Been thru there on Harleys a couple of times. A bit lonely

I have enjoyed an adult beverage there in the past, but this trip had too many miles yet to travel. The Two Dot Bar was closed several years ago when I went through.

Interior of Milwaukee Substation at Loweth MT
Author: WoodwardEJ

I visited the CMStP&P Substation at Loweth MT on July 16, 1996. The exterior photos I took that day are not as good as those posted by several others. You can find those by searching for Loweth in the Media Sharing > Static Photography portion of Trainorders.

Here are two photos of the interior of the Loweth Substation as it was on July 16, 1996.

Here's a link to a 4/14 post that included views of the Ringling depot at that time.
