Coming and Going - B&O 4055
Author: refarkas

It is the late 1960's/early 1970's in Akron, Ohio, and B&O 4055 is westbound with a freight. Today there are the two CSX mainline tracks instead of an EL yard lead, the two EL mainline tracks, the two B&O mainline tracks, and a PRR/PC line closest to the camera. The remains of what was once a siding are still visible in these photos but have long disappeared since then.

Wow some good looking stuff there. That B&O F7 is so dirty you can't even tell what the number is.

Sometimes the non-rail aspects of photos are as good as the railway elements. The Admiral sign in photo 2 is just great. I remember Admiral televisions and appliances but expect they were gone before my children were old enough to remember them.

I got a shock off the fly-back transformer in an old Admiral TV when I was a teen. Knocked me against the wall!
Yup, good memories there!
There are lots of photos coming from Akron. Must have been a hopping railfan site.
