Nostalgia & History > 3/87 SP Indio Work Train PowerDate: 04/27/17 18:40 3/87 SP Indio Work Train Power Author: callum_out We got all measure of SP GEs into West Colton, the U25s, the U28Bs, the last of the U30Cs and of course the U33s. We never
seemed to get any of the small batch of Pine Bluff B23-7s. So much to my surprise I cruise into Indio one Saturday morning and here's a work train with a pair of them including the class unit. EO Date: 04/27/17 20:23 Re: 3/87 SP Indio Work Train Power Author: callum_out Which explains why they didn't buy more!

SR Date: 04/27/17 22:56 Re: 3/87 SP Indio Work Train Power Author: bradleymckay Rich, the 5100 led the LAMFF on Feb. 11th, seen going through Loma Linda. Complete consist was 5100/5105/8553/8276/7541/7301.
Had come west on the AVAXT-05 arriving in So Cal on 2/8, with the 5105 leading. Complete consist was 5105/5100/Milw2036/Soo6240. This was about when SP started to get really short of locomotives to run trains and had just leased the P&L units. Allen Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 04/27/17 23:00 by bradleymckay.
