Photo 1. This is a pretty good view of the upper Eel River. It's a rather open valley that narrows and deepens as it works north to the Pacific.
Photos 2&3. A rock tunnel, coming and going- note the bridge in the background. This must have been a crazy expensive RR for the SP/ATSF to build!
