Nostalgia & History > Cinderblocks on Soldier SummitDate: 04/28/17 10:10 Cinderblocks on Soldier Summit Author: GrandeGold A quartet of EMDs featuring an SD40T-2 wearing 'Speed Lettering' and a trio of so called 'cinderblocks' pull an Oakland to Kansas City auto train through Gilluly, Utah, 10 miles below Soldier Summit on Oct. 12, 1996.
We used to joke and complain about SP's scruffy old cinderblock locomotives. Now we'd love to see them on the mainline. Thanks for looking back, James Belmont Salt Lake City, UT Date: 04/28/17 19:35 Re: Cinderblocks on Soldier Summit Author: atsf121 Never heard them called cinderblocks, but the name sure fits.
