Both photos.  Sort of the Crown Jewel of the NWP (in my opinion) is the Island Mountain bridge and tunnel.  The line crosses the Eel and goes straight into the side of the cliff- very impressive!  I'd hoped we could stop and marvel a bit- but they had us keep moving-  so these are the only photos I got.

I for one wanted to thank you for this look at the NWP - I have enjoyed the series greatly, as a last glimpse into the Eel River segment before the slides and washouts obliterated it. I am surprised that WAF or others have not weighed in. B

I'd hoped someone who truly knew the line could identify the various tunnels & bridges for us. But it was a pretty isolated line and access into the Eel wasn't easy. Maybe relatively few ever saw it?

I would think WAF, MDO (although I don't see much from him anymore), JLY, and others would be able to help. Let's hope.
