Knox & Kane RR Alco #44 crosses the Kinzua Viaduct on July 11, 1996. A tornado took down the trestle which now has a trail on what survived the storm.

Walked out there before the tornado. Very impressive. I think I remember the rails stamped from Carnegie Steel.
A shame to lose it especially since the strengthening project which was under way at the time would have probably have saved it from the comparatively weak tornado. I thought I heard that the surviving part of the span is the part that was completed.
