Mount Lowe find
Author: bakersfielddave

between the pages of an old book I purchased years ago and just opened ...

its nearly as good as the day it was printed

it happens occasionally when I am sure others have experienced same we read an old book and pieces of scrap paper or newspaper clippings from that era can be hiding between the pages for decades protected from the elements

enjoy

I hiked the trail on the old ROW a few times in the '80s and '90s. It must have been a spectacular trip via the incline and trolley.

That must be a pretty old book! ;-)

I have a railroad book somewhere with a '60's vintage Santa Fe time table in it. Not sure which book it is, but I figure it's safer in there that any other place that I can think of.

yes my late Uncles book ''Railroad Avenue'' by Mr F H Hubbard, dated 1945 ,I have had it since 1993, it was filled with old clippings

and he lived in Upland Calif in the 30s and 40s hence the Mt Lowe pamphlet inside to keep it flat I guess

I can post some more finds from it if you like?
