Nostalgia & History > Water Level Wednesday: A demonstration runDate: 05/24/17 06:45 Water Level Wednesday: A demonstration run Author: march_hare It's a gorgeous May day at CP365 in the eastern suburbs of Rochester, NY. (1991, I think--I don't have the slide handy to check).
The Swedish-built X2000 is on a barnstorming tour of upstate NY, which started at the ABB plant in Elmira Heights, then west to Buffalo, and now eastbound for Albany. No catenary here, so a pair of specially painted Rohr Turboliner power cars are pushing the train along. In the background, Conrail's low-priority BUSE is completing a set out, and will drudge along behind the passenger special once it passes.
