Southern Pacifics SD9s on the Shasta Division
Author: ATSF5964

Here is a look at some of the interesting and varied assignments of the SD9s assigned to the Dunsmuir terminal in the years 1993 through 1995. They were the principal power on the Weed local, as well as work-train and occasion helper locomotives. Many of us still mourn their passage.

Real nice work. I'm surprised we didn't run into each other as I was out shooting all the time when I first moved up to Dunsmuir. If I may ask what camera were you shooting and what program did you use to convert to digital? The quality is fantastic. Brought back a lot of memories.

Nicely done.

Looks like March of 1993, maybe a WinteRail related trip? May have been the year PhotoBob went to Ireland.

+...and thanks for calling it the Shasta Division.

That is something I could easily watch on my big screen, via DVD! Just amazing! I've seen a lot of trains over the decades, but none match the show SP put on. Geography, power, weather, and friendly personnel.
