Author: CSXT_8437

In addition to being the nation's birthday, today marks the 190th anniversary of the founding of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad....July 4th, 1827. Charles Carroll, the last living signer of the Declaration of Independence, was on hand to lay the first stone near his estate in Baltimore, 51 years to the day after he signed the Declaration.

And unfortunately the B&O Railroad Museum, where this all began, is allowing all the precious one-of-a-kind B&O passenger cars to rust away in their front yard. Trust me, if they do not do something soon to restore these cars, they will be lost forever by the 200th year of the B&O.
Happy Independence Day to everyone and please be safe.
