Nostalgia & History > CN Train 990, one RDC, October 1971, Toronto to StouffvilleDate: 07/05/17 13:22 CN Train 990, one RDC, October 1971, Toronto to Stouffville Author: MartyBernard Roger Puta rode the subject train in October 1971. The train made a morning inbound run from suburban Stouffville, ON to Toronto. Roger rode the afternoon outbound run. Today GO Transit provides a significantly higher level of service of 9 trains a day each way between Toronto and Lincolnville (one stop beyond Stouffville) pluse an additional 8 GO trains a day each way between Toronto and Unionville. Here are Roger's photos. I want to thank the Canadian Group for helping me understand Roger's ride.
1. RDC 6118 in Toronto awaiting departure. 2 and 3. The conductor and a close up of the Train Board. 4, 5, and 6. Intermediate stops of Agincourt, Unionville, and Markham. 7 through 10. Stouffville. Exceptions were extremely rare. Some of his slides have aged well and need little to no photo editing. Kodachrome tend to get bluish with time. Some of Roger's slides have become very blue and dark. Once the blue is reduced/removed often there is not much other color left. What you are seeing is my best effort to bring the slides back to what Roger saw. No B&W colorized.

Two rolls with the same processing date can be very different in amount of deterioration.
