Nostalgia & History > Slateford Jct.Date: 07/06/17 08:20 Slateford Jct. Author: njmidland About 10 years ago I had the pleasure of having dinner (in a dining car of course) with Jim McClellan. I mentioned growing up alongside the Lackawanna Cutoff and being an EL-era kid. A few weeks later a CD arrived with photos from 1960 of his encounters that year with both the Erie and the Lackawanna, just after the EL merger. This is an eastbound freight, just a few thousand feet east of Slateford Jct. on the Lackawanna Cutoff, slowly rising out of the Delaware River valley to make the turn onto the Delaware River viaduct on its way to the Lackawanna's Port Morris Yard in northern New Jersey. Today the bridge has been filled in, but Slateford Jct. is the go-to spot to observe the Delaware Lackawanna's Alco fleet.

The third unit does have the same louver arrangement as they had. Date: 07/06/17 22:28 Re: Slateford Jct. Author: SD45X Kinda looks like 86 in the # board.
